A crochet hook grip designed to be universal and ergonomic
Over the course of my senior year at Rochester Institute of Technology, I worked to develop a successful prototype of an ergonomic crochet hook grip. Some of the process steps included research and feedback from both medical professionals and users, 3D modeled/printed form exploration, material experimentation, and physical prototyping.

Modeled and rendered using Fusion 360
Prototype 3D printed with PLA
Urethane foam molded from negatives casted in silicone
Featuring a memory foam grip around an injection-molded plastic core, cro provides a universal hook holder to increase the ergonomics of the typical crochet hook. The hook is housed in a silicone mechanism that stretches to pressure-fit hooks as small as .5 mm and as large as 5mm. Increasing the surface area of the typical aluminum hook provides a larger grip for the user, easing fatigue and hand pain associated with the repetitive motions of crochet, as well as the tight grip on the hook for extended periods of time.
